What it feels like

The Magpie Files. Case two. A summer village show, a tent full of cakes, and a Duchess who takes off her ruby to judge them. It's all very English, and very sweet. Then the wasps come. And when they've gone, so has the ruby. Someone in this tent is not as sweet as their sponge.

How to play

  1. The story comes in four parts. Each is read out loud by someone different — everyone else just listens.
  2. Between parts, the screen gives the table something to argue about. Every clue you need is in the story.
  3. At the end, everyone accuses in private: who took the ruby, and where it is now.
  4. Then the solution is read out, with every clue and where it was hiding.

Scoring: 3 points for naming the thief, 2 for finding the ruby.

What you need
