What it feels like

Snow is falling on the cabin by the lake. The road is gone, the fire is lit, and the whole family is snowed in together for Rosalind's eighty-eighth birthday. Tonight she has something to tell them. Something that changes everything. And by morning, one of them will have made sure nobody ever reads it. Mind the little things. They always matter.

How to play

  1. The story comes in four parts. Each is read out loud by someone different — everyone else just listens.
  2. Between parts, the screen gives the table something to argue about. Every clue you need is in the story.
  3. At the end, everyone accuses in private: who took the will, and where it is now.
  4. Then the solution is read out, with every clue and where it was hiding.

Scoring: 3 points for naming who took it, 2 for saying where the will is now.

What you need

3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
