What it feels like
One person watches. One person reads. The story is completely ordinary. But the one watching has been handed a secret feeling... and has to react as if it's the most shocking thing they've ever heard. Read their face. Name the feeling.
How to play
- Each round, a reactor gets a secret feeling, like “total betrayal” or “awe”.
- Someone else reads a completely ordinary line aloud — “the bus came two minutes early today” — and the reactor reacts with that feeling, big.
- Everyone else names the feeling from four choices, on phones or out loud.
Scoring: 2 points for naming the feeling. The reactor scores 1 for each person who reads it right.
You'll get prompts like
- “The shop was out of oat milk, so I bought regular milk.”
- “I've decided to try a different shampoo.”
Playing safely
React in your seat or your spot. Big faces are good — no throwing things, and keep voices at a comfortable volume.
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
