What it feels like

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Everyone at this table arrived with a few of each, and tonight we find out whose is whose. Here's how it works. In a private turn, you each answer two prompts, and nobody else looks. The answers come up one at a time with no name on them, and you say out loud who you think wrote each one. Then we reveal it. Every right guess scores two. If fewer than half of you guess yours, you score three for staying a mystery.

How to play

  1. Take a private turn each and answer two prompts. Nobody else looks.
  2. The answers come up one at a time, with no name on them. Say out loud who wrote it.
  3. Reveal, and see who read the room.

Scoring: 2 points for each right guess. If fewer than half of you guess yours, you score 3 for staying a mystery.

You'll get prompts like

  • “The best wedding you've ever been to, and what made it”
  • “The song that gets you onto the dance floor every time”

What you need

3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
