Spell It Out
A café letter board and a wooden spinner. Call letters, solve the phrase, then say who it belongs to. Every phrase is something one of you says.

What it feels like
Every phrase on this board is something one of you actually says. Here's how it works. Everyone writes one thing they say, and lines from earlier nights come back too. On your turn, spin the dial and call a consonant: it scores the dial's number every time it appears. Or show a vowel, which scores nothing and ends your turn. Double doubles your points, and halve halves them. Whoever wrote the phrase sits it out. Solve it to keep your points, and name who said it for three hundred more.
How to play
- In a private turn, write one thing you say, or have said, short enough for the letter board. Lines the Almanac kept from earlier nights come back too.
- On your turn: spin the dial and call a consonant, show a vowel (it scores nothing and ends your turn), or solve. Whoever wrote the phrase sits it out.
- Solve it, then say who it belongs to.
Scoring: A consonant scores the dial's number for every time it appears. Double doubles your points for this phrase and Halve halves them; Pass ends your turn. Solve it to keep your points, plus 300 if you name who said it.
You'll get prompts like
- “Something you always say”
- “A thing your family says”
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
