Straight Face
A confession is read out with no name. We heard it. Straight faces. Crack and you lose your point — then guess whose it was.

What it feels like
Everybody in this room is hiding something. Small things. Silly things. Tonight, they come out... and nobody is allowed to react. Here's how it works. In a private turn, you each confess something small and true. Then the confessions are read out, with no names. The room says together: we heard it, straight faces. Laugh, gasp, or even snort, and you've cracked. After that, everyone guesses whose it was. A straight face scores one point. Naming the confessor scores two. And the confessor scores one for everybody they crack.
How to play
- In a private turn, confess something small and true about yourself. The sillier, the better.
- Each confession is read out with no name. Then the room says together: “We heard it. Straight faces.” Laugh, gasp or snort and you've cracked.
- Then everyone guesses whose confession it was.
Scoring: 1 point for keeping a straight face, 2 for naming who confessed. The confessor scores 1 for everyone they crack.
You'll get prompts like
- “Something small you've never admitted to this group”
- “A food you pretend to like”
Playing safely
Confess only for yourself, and keep it small and funny. Nothing that would hurt someone in this room to hear.
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
