What it feels like

Champagne. White walls. A room full of people who came to see one small, deep-blue painting. At nine o'clock, the lights go down for five minutes. When they come back up, the frame is still there... but the painting isn't. Nobody left the room. So where did it go?

How to play

  1. The story comes in four parts. Each is read out loud by someone different — everyone else just listens.
  2. Between parts, the screen gives the table something to argue about. Every clue you need is in the story.
  3. At the end, everyone accuses in private: who took the painting, and where it is now.
  4. Then the solution is read out, with every clue and where it was hiding.

Scoring: 3 points for naming who took it, 2 for saying where the painting is now.

What you need

3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
