What it feels like
Gather round. Twenty-five letters on the big screen, and two minutes on the clock. Here's how it works. Find words along tiles that touch, diagonals too, and never use a tile twice. Type every word you find on your phone and send them before time runs out. Then the room checks. Any word two of you found is crossed out for both of you. Longer words score more. Two rounds.
How to play
- A 5 × 5 grid of letters goes up on the big screen. You have two minutes.
- Find words of three letters or more along neighbouring tiles (diagonals count), using each tile once. Send them from your phone, spaces between.
- When time's up, a word two of you found is crossed out for both. Tap any that aren't real words.
Scoring: Words only you found: 3 or 4 letters 1 point, 5 letters 2, 6 letters 3, 7 letters 5, 8 or more 11. Two rounds.
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
