What it feels like
Every trend starts with one person. Invent a move and a catchphrase. The next person copies it perfectly... and adds a move of their own. Then the next. The chain gets longer and longer, until somebody flops. Keep your trend alive.
How to play
- One person starts a trend on a theme, like “a victory celebration”: one move and a catchphrase.
- The next person copies it exactly — then adds one move of their own. The next copies both and adds a third, all the way round.
- Miss a move and the room calls it: you flop and sit out the rest of that trend. Two trends a game.
Scoring: 1 point for every move you add. The person who started a trend gets 1 every time it's copied. Last one standing scores 2.
You'll get prompts like
- “a dance for doing the laundry”
- “a victory celebration”
Playing safely
Stay in your own spot with room around you. No jumping off anything, no touching anyone, and no moves that could hurt.
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
