What it feels like
Every family has a recipe that's been passed down so many times, nobody's sure what's really in it. Tonight, one recipe travels round the table, rewritten by memory... let's see what survives.
How to play
- The first person reads the starting text once. Then it's hidden.
- They rewrite it from memory for the next person, who reads it once and does the same.
- At the end, read every version aloud and see what survived.
Scoring: No points. The chain is the prize, and you can seal the best lines.
You'll get prompts like
- “Write a family recipe in two sentences”
- “Describe your worst cooking disaster in two sentences”
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
