What it feels like

The fire's burning low, and it's the quiet part of the day. Before anyone sleeps, we go round once. Here's how it works. One person takes the floor at a time and shares out loud: a peak, the best moment of today. A pit, the hardest. And a path, the one thing you want from tomorrow. You can use the sixty-second timer if you like, and nobody has to write anything. Keep any line worth remembering in the Almanac. Nobody keeps score. It's just the camp, listening, so take your time.

How to play

  1. One person takes the floor at a time and answers out loud.
  2. Use the 60-second timer if you like. Nobody has to write anything.
  3. Keep any line worth remembering in the Almanac.

Scoring: No scores. Just the room, listening.

You'll get prompts like

  • “Peak — the best moment of today”
  • “Pit — the hardest moment of today”

What you need

3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
