Once Upon a Wedding is one of the ten games in Ever After, a pack bought once and kept by your group.
What it feels like
Once upon a time, two people met, and everyone at this table tells the story a little differently. Tonight, you tell it together, and nobody gets to see the whole thing until the end. Here's how it works. The first person gets the opening line and writes the next one. Each person after that sees only the line before theirs, then adds their own. At the end, read the whole story aloud, from top to bottom, and hear what you made together. Nobody keeps score. The story is the prize, and you can seal the best lines.
How to play
- The first person gets the opening line and writes the next one.
- Each person sees only the line before theirs, then adds their own.
- At the end, read the whole legend aloud, top to bottom.
Scoring: No points. The story is the prize, and you can seal the best lines.
You'll get prompts like
- “Begin the story of how the happy couple met, as a fairy tale: “Once upon a time…””
- “Begin the story of the proposal, as told by someone who wasn't there”
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
