What it feels like
It starts as the truth. Then someone reads it once, and writes it down from memory. Then someone else does. By the end of the night, what's left? Let's find out how rumours are really born.
How to play
- The first person reads the starting text once. Then it's hidden.
- They rewrite it from memory for the next person, who reads it once and does the same.
- At the end, read every version aloud and see what survived.
Scoring: No points. The chain is the prize, and you can seal the best lines.
You'll get prompts like
- “Invent a strange but harmless piece of news about this group”
- “Describe, in two sentences, a dream you had”
What you need
3 to 10 people and one phone, tablet or laptop to pass around — or everyone on their own phone in a room. Nothing to download, no accounts. The best lines can be sealed into your group's Almanac and come back in later games.
