What it feels like
A proper ghost story is never told by one person. It's passed along, and it grows a little stranger each time. Here's how it works. The first person gets the opening line and writes the next one. Each person after that sees only the line before theirs, then adds their own. At the end, read the whole story aloud, from top to bottom, and hear what you made together. Nobody keeps score. The story is the prize, and you can seal the best lines.
