The Halloween pack

Halloween party games: Fright Night

Ten games for Halloween night: spooky, silly, and safe for the whole street. Monster statues, ghost stories told a line at a time, and three mysteries to read aloud by torchlight. Spooky, never gory. It also opens three Pro games that suit the occasion.

While the sweets are counted

  • Costume Hall of Fame
The costumes you wore, made, or wish you hadn't. Guess whose memory it is.
  • The Costume Awards
Secret votes for tonight's titles. Guess who the room picked before the reveal.
  • Trick or Treat?
Finish a spooky dilemma so the room splits exactly down the middle. Then argue about it over the sweets.

Monster mash

  • Monster Statues
Dance in your spot while the music plays. When it stops, freeze like whatever the screen shouts.
  • Monster Mime
A secret spooky phrase gets mimed down a team's line, like silent telephone. The last one says what they think it was.
  • Spooky Doodles
A phrase becomes a drawing becomes a guess, all the way round the room. See how far it drifts.

Lights low

  • Trick or Truth
One true spooky story from someone in the room, hidden among the fakes. Find the real one.
  • Haunted Face Off
Two of you answer the same spooky prompt. Everyone else votes for the one that made them laugh.
  • The Ghost Story
Everyone adds one line, seeing only the line before. Then read the whole ghost story aloud, lights low.
  • Lanterns Out (also comes with Pro)
A Wolf hides among you. A Lamplighter peeks behind one door. At dawn, you vote.

By torchlight

  • The Ghost of Hollow Inn (also comes with Pro)
A three-hundred-year-old inn, a ghost who walks at midnight, and a houseful of people with cameras. Is she real? Read it aloud, then accuse someone — in secret.
  • The Ghost Light (also comes with Pro)
A lakeside campfire, a ghost story about a drowned ferrywoman, and a lantern that really does appear on the water at ten o'clock. By the time everyone walks back from the dock, the family kitty is gone. Read it aloud round the fire, then accuse someone — in secret.

Before the masks come off

  • Next Year's Costume
Predict next Halloween. It opens the next time this group plays, and the room decides who called it.

How it works

  • Paid once. $19, plus any tax where you live. Nothing renews, and it isn't part of Pro.
  • Kept by your group. You name the group when you buy; everyone with the group's link can play on the group's devices.
  • Guests need nothing. Only the host's screen needs the pack. Guests join on their own phones with a room code, or you pass one device round.
  • Refundable for 14 days from the pack's page, on the terms in our Terms.

Afterwards: the book

Whatever you seal at the end of a game — a toast, a piece of advice, a prediction — goes into your group's Almanac. From Fright Night's page you can then order the book of it: a 6 × 9 inch hardcover or a PDF made only from what was sealed in this pack's games. The book is bought separately.

Good to know

The games play on one screen; everyone else can join on their phones. Ages 10 and up.
